Encouraging confidence in controlling different materials to produce expressive, colourful, vibrant artworks

Sahaja is an established Buddhist artist.

Sahaja With Kids

His usual working methods used to create the sculptures shown on this web site are easily transposed into a classroom environment.

Understandable artwork can be made using either collected materials in a 'junk workshop' or by other methods and materials

Workshops can be adapted to suit all ages (from key stages 1&2 up to 16 years +)

Travel and material costs necessary for the workshop also need to be covered by the school.

Sahaja is now also offering training workshops for teachers (prices to be discussed as requirements may vary).

Reviews

"Thankyou Sahaja for the excellent sculpture work that you completed with our year 5 pupils. All the year group involved were 'buzzing' with excitement for the whole week, having never worked on a large scale before nor used such a variety of interesting materials with obvious good effect.

Your work with year 5 acted a wonderful stimulus across the whole school. I am sure we will be enjoying a sculpture week again."

Ann Seager, headteacher, June 2000, Northowram Primary

"Sahaja was dynamic and inspirational. He widened the students experience in terms of materials, techniques and ideas.

His openness and wide range of interest had an obvious impact on the group."

Julie Demison, Feb 2001,
South Craven School (6th Form), Keighley

"Sahaja has worked at Swinnow primary on three occasions, firstly with key stage 1 and more recently with key stage 2 (upper & lower) children. He is a very charismatic person who inspires all who work with him, both staff and children alike.

His enthusiasm and creativity enthralled the children to such an extent that he is talked about long after his visits to the school.

Sahaja helped the children create a life size sculpture of a person using found materials. This now has pride of place in the school corridor.

I would without hesitation, recommend Sahaja to any school, as an artist not only with talent, but one who brings enthusiasm and fun to his work as well as the ability to spark creativity in all children"

Mrs Alison Chin, October 1999, Swinnow Primary, Leeds
